My Origin

I was born unable to walk with a condition known as bilateral club feet, little did I know what was in store for me. By the time I was 14 I had 13 major and minor surgeries done to both feet. I learned excruciating pain with reconstruction surgeries as well as the use of correctional orthopedic boots throughout the years. I was blessed with Dr. Jardim who himself had been born with one club foot. His passion and commitment on making people like myself walk and lead normal lives was immeasurable.

At the age of 16 my journey began for conscientious seeking self-care. By the time a reached my 20s I was able to play tennis, jog, run and even get to the level of brown belt in martial arts. I did forget to mention one thing that a truly loved doing since I was able to walk and that is I loved to dance. Being Portuguese my parents always had friends over our house and music was always played. My father taught me how to waltz and I can do a mean salsa too. I practically danced 3 to 4 times a week and that also became my physical therapy self-care throughout the years.

My Purpose

Why I do what I do now? It all goes back to the many times I had to learn to do a lot of self-care having lived most of my young life with so much pain.

My life was never going to be the same, I took a soul searching look on where I wanted to go with my life. I felt a deep passion to serve. That’s when I decided to learn about Ayaverda life style and took the certification for “Perfect Health Instructor” under the teaching of Dr. Deepak Chopra and David Simon. I used to work with Dr. Chopra back in Boston and admired him and his works, I was truly humbled to have our paths cross once again.

I know what it’s like to live with life’s challenges, my mission is to teach people how they can live healthy normal lives no matter what physical conditions they have to face. But most important it is to bring awareness to my community on how day to day actions and choices we make, can ultimately create a healthy ongoing life style.

Sport Massage

Sports massage can reduce an athlete's recovery time by as much as 50%. It is 3 to 5 times more effective than resting in combating fatigue and expediting return to peak performance sooner and sustain it longer.

Helps athletes prevent injuries, which might otherwise be caused by overuse releasing muscle tension and restoring balance to the musculoskeletal system.

It may therefore be reasonably claimed that some of the greatest benefits of sports massage is in helping prevent injury. Help athletes recover faster when an injury dose occur. Finally but not least, assist the athlete in reaching peak performance and beyond.
